Tim grew up in the Baptist church and, as a little boy, told people he would one day
be a preacher. During a Young Life camp, at the age of thirteen, he confessed
Jesus as his Lord and asked to be saved while sitting on a rock in the mountains of
Colorado, in the middle of the night. However, his teenage years were, unfortunately,
filled with sin and rebellion as Tim became what he calls, "A legend in my own
mind!" Drinking, cursing and cars were Tim's favorite hobbies when he met Peggy.
Peggy was a hard working country girl. Growing up, she attended church when
visiting her aunt in the city. One Sunday she gave her heart to Jesus. Peggy's dad
died of a hereditary cancer when she was just thirteen. Shortly before he passed
away, she asked him, "Daddy, if you knew that your kids would probably get
cancer, why did you have eight of us?" He replied, "Because, maybe one of you will
find the cure." She didn't know it then, but Peggy already had found The Cure!
(Because of Tim and Peggy's faith in God's Word, several of Peggy's siblings, and
even Peggy herself, have been miraculously healed of cancers!)
Tim and Peggy met in high school and married in 1979. They attended church
once or twice while dating, but it was a few months after their wedding, when
both woke up in the middle of the night, trembling, knowing God was in their
bedroom, that they decided to serve Him! That night they committed to God
and each other that they would do whatever God told them; they had no idea
what that would mean! Over the next few years, the call of God grew in Tim's
heart and he and Peggy began to change as they learned the Word. They were
filled with the Holy Spirit and set out for Bible school in 1982 with a one year
old, a new born and hearts filled with faith in what their God could do! Read more
