The Great Commission Network: 

The fivefold ministry gift of the Evangelist has long been MIA in most local Churches. The Great Commission Network is working with those called by God as true Evangelist to help raise up others who have the call of God on their life as an evangelist, but have yet to be recognized. Every believer has been given the ministry of reconciliation to Go tell others about Jesus Christ. Yet, God saw it necessary to give gifts to men in order to equip the body for the work of ministry and for the building up, fully equipping of the saints, Ephesians 4:11. The Evangelist is one of five gifts God called to equip believers, yet most are only familiar with one gift, the pastor. As a result the church at large is suffering from a lack of equipping to reach the lost, win souls and be a witness. Jesus Christ exampled all five gifts during His ministry on earth. As the evangelist Jesus said, “And He said to them, Come after Me [as disciples–letting Me be your Guide], follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men!” Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭19‬ ‭AMPC‬‬. This is a perfect example of the ministry gift of the evangelist in operation. We see the same thing with Jesus the pastor, “And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.” Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. We can see all five gifts exampled through the life and ministry of Jesus.
